With all the promotions going on I was going in full trek mode. I bought kellog’s,visited Burger Kings, etc. I even won a Star Trek messenger bag through a twitter contest. I finaly sent out my points for a free shirt from Kellog’s.My hardest part of that was to decide which color shirt out of the three options I wanted.  I finally went with Blue. I almost went with red but then the thought of all the red shirt jokes out there would haunt me everytime I wore it.  Blue was more logical in the long run.

Burger King my goal was to get a complete set of the four glasses, and the sixteen toys.At first I thought the toys would be the hardest to achieve with such a short time to do so.  The glassess I was fortunate enough to get within the first few days or the promotion. Had to eat a whopper jr meal just to be able to buy them at the 1.99 price.

My goal then was to get all the toys. All 16 noise making, realistic, movie based toys. I lucked out when one of the local Bks on two seperate occasions went out back and got out toys for me. I just finished the last four this past Friday. it took three weeks to get all of them. I opened mine and will be displaying them on a shelf.  They are some of the coolest toys I have ever seen come from a kids meal promotion. I was glad i didn’t have to buy a kids meal each time or that would have been crazy. I ate two kids meals the whole time. I’ll be sad to see the promotion end and the advertising gone from the resturants but it was fun while they lasted. This was my official first time  dealing with a  Star Trek promotion from a fast food place and it was awesome.

My current Trek promotion addiction is the Eggo waffles. There are over 25 different desings. The waffles do need a warning saying “resistance is futile” because it is hard to resist them.  It is also highly illogical to enjoy them all warm and covered in syrup.

I wish all these promotions could “live long and prosper” but as the saying goes “all good things must come to an end.”
